It’s Your Last Chance To Enter This Year’s Funny Women Awards
Hey, you. Yep. You there. With the face.
Are you a woman?
Are you funny?
Do you make films and enjoy winning things?
Great. Take a seat and read the rest of this article.
This year, we’re partnering with the brilliant people at Funny Women to bring the world the Funny Women Comedy Shorts Award, 2017.
We’re on the hunt for hilarious short films (maximum six minutes) written, directed or produced by ladies of the female persuasion.
We’ll post the 10 finalist films right here on our website and on social media. They’ll also be given the once-over by an illustrious judging panel that includes the spectacularly funny Roisin Conaty, Channel 4 Comedy assistant editor Laura Riseam, Avalon boss Rob Aslett, comedy development producer Richard Grocock, Underwire Film Festival director Anna Bogutskaya, and BBC Comedy commissioning editor Kate Daughton.
The winner will be announced at The Funny Women Comedy Shorts Awards 2017 finals which will be held on Saturday the 4th of March 2018 as part of London's Vault Festival.
So, if you’ve got a film you feel is worthy of our attention, and fancy a chance at potentially working with Comedy Central in the future, all you need to do is register on the Funny Women website before the deadline on Wednesday 31 January.
To give you an idea of what we’re looking for, here’s last year’s winner - Ambition, by Carolyn Goodyear.
