It's only February and the best story of 2016 is already here. No, it's not two men sneaking into a cinema dressed as one (though that's a close second).
It's a story told by Facebook user Chris Harrigan about a flock of seagulls storming a train. Okay, technically that's all the evidence we have that this happened, and call us gull-ible, BUT WE WANT TO BELIEVE. WE WANT TO BELIEVE.
The internet has gone wild for the story, which has been retweeted over 5,000 times.
It's early days but this may be the story of 2016. pic.twitter.com/mb8w0APJ3P— Mikey Nicholson (@Mikey_Nicholson) February 1, 2016
Some discerning individuals are quick to point out that there's no other evidence the event happened, and the tale has been told before. Metro Trains are as yet unable to confirm or deny the accident.
In the slightly warped but always relevant words of Albus Dumbledore: just because it's happening inside our hearts doesn't mean it's not real.
