If any TV show defines the cultural landscape of Downtown New York in the late 90s, Friends is it. Most of the best storylines centre around things that aren't even things in 2016 - answering machines ('I'm breezy!), door-to-door salesmen, pay phones and ORDERING THINGS OUT OF CATALOGUES BY PHONE (wonder if Ross still loves Pottery Barn?).
