In your journey to becoming a tea master, you’ve encountered some obstacles on the way. There was your first year of tea making, where the brew was - frankly - shaky. There was that period you went through where you tried to cut out caffeine so started drinking chamomile tea like a FOOL. And lest we forget the period of your life where you thought the milk went in first.
WELL, seasoned tea drinker, we’ve come to tell you you’ve been doing it all wrong.
Here's the rub: you have to brew your tea for FIVE WHOLE MINUTES.
The news comes from a new series of the BBC’s Inside the Factory, where presenter Cherry Healey was shown the key to making the correct cuppa by Dr Stuart Farrimond at the Typhoo tea factory.
Not only might the brew time be longer than you thought but did you know that the colour of your mug also affects its taste?
Apparently, those opting for a sweeter tea should go for reds and pinks, and those wanting a saltier (?) brew should go for blues.
Oh and don’t drink tea out of a styrofoam cup. Just trust us.
