If you were rich, how would you choose to rub your wealth in the faces of everyone you met? We’d walk around holding up a torch of flaming £50 notes, Statue of Liberty-style. But that’s just us.
This guy? He’s gone to a little bit more effort. Said to be part of China’s nouveau riche circle, he’s made headlines after being snapped shopping in Guangzhou accompanied by a fleet of eight robot maids.
He’s catching a lot of flack for it, too. Chinese media outlets are calling him a “tuhao”, a term commonly used in China to describe tasteless people who got rich overnight - ‘New Money’ for any Tatler readers out there.
To be fair to the guy, it shouldn’t even be a big deal. China are obsessed with robots, and opened their first ever robot-waited restaurant in Guiyang City, Guizhou this week.
And none of that stuff matters, anyway. Because the important question is: Would you?
