Today's International Women's Day and since you're still not reading this in a world where women are treated, paid and respected in the same way as men, we reckon it's important that you watch this incredible sketch from Comedy Central's own Amy Schumer.
It begins with Schumer, playing herself, hiking through an idyllic California landscape where she stumbles upon comedy giants Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tina Fey, and Patricia Arquette, also as themselves. They're having a picnic, really letting their hair down.
“Are you that girl from the television who talks about her pussy all the time?” Louis-Dreyfus asks.
“Yes, yes, thank you!” Schumer gushes, shocked to be recognised by such legends.
“Well, come talk about your pussy over here,” Louis-Dreyfus offers.
What follows is a stark commentary on the innate sexism and ageism of Hollywood, rippling out the world over for as long as anyone can remember. Why do we forget about incredibly talented actresses when they reach a 'certain age'?
Fuck knows, quite simply. But these ladies (and all of Amy's brilliant work) serve as the best reminder possible that it needs to stop. Today.
