This story, told by Comedian Thanyia Moore, is about Mary Seacole, one of the pioneers of modern nursing and all-round healing OG. Born in Jamaica, she had a passion for medicine, healing and nursery. Seeking to help injured soldiers fighting in the Crimean War she faced rejections from both the British War Office and even Florence Nightingale herself. Despite this she travelled all the way to Crimea to set up a frontline medical hotel to aid sick and recovering soldiers during the war. She was a legendary black heroine who deserves to be remembered for her selfless and courageous actions.
